The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is due to publish an interim decision this week

under a deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.

With a huge degree of probability, the UK regulatory commission will oppose the merger of the two giants.

Bobby Kotick (Bobby Kotick), head of Activision Blizzard, decided to express his opinion on this issue on air channel CNBC.

What is known

Bobby Kotick urged the UK Competition and Markets Authority not to interfere with the deal, as it (the administration), in his opinion, is not competent enough in matters of the video game industry.

The head of Activision Blizzard was not shy aboutexpressions, and his words can be interpreted as veiled threats. The businessman recalled the words of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak (Rishi Sunak) that the UK should become the Silicon Valley of Europe, and said that instead the country could become a Valley of Death if it did not support his deal.

This threat should be interpreted as a statementthe fact that smart people see the positive effect of the Microsoft-Activision Blizzard merger, and stupid people will not only block the deal, but, by definition, will not be able to do anything good for their country either.

Kotick claims that the most influential companies in the gaming business are Tencent and ByteDance, and not Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.
