Coolpad Xview introduced: first commercial AR glasses in China

Coolpad Group has announced the Coolpad Xview smart AR glasses. The new product was developed for five years, it boasts

the latest AR technologies at a relatively low price.

Coolpad Xview is based on a uniqueThe single-chip system is the first device on the market equipped with a wearable chipset. In general, the gadget looks like ordinary sunglasses, but they have a place for an optical display and a camera with a 3mm lens. The characteristics of the screen are not disclosed (like many others), the manufacturer only noted that the contrast and color rendition will be at the highest level. It is also known that the display supports Waveguide technology; roughly speaking, the user will be able to see a hologram in front of him. The glasses can work independently or together with a smartphone via Bluetooth.

What can

Coolpad Xview has people recognition featureand objects, they can measure the surrounding space, search for information on the Internet and much more. There is also a consumer version of the Coolpad Xview Smart Wearable AR Glasses, it is focused on simpler tasks: price comparison, terrain orientation, communication and other “standard” AR functions. All this works on the algorithms of the same single-chip system.

The new product supports 4G and will cost $428; next year Coolpad promises to release a 5G version.
