Deep fryer instead of PS5: PlayStation 5 buyers on Amazon get everything, but not consoles

Amazon UK customers have received their parcelspre-ordered the PlayStation 5, but inside they found anything but the console itself. First, the find was shared by Bex April May, who received a deep fryer instead of a PlayStation 5.

“Happy PS5 day everyone.Tried to document the unboxing, but Amazon tricked us into delivering a junk fryer instead (after providing the shipping password). Has anyone else had this problem today?”

Others also shared their storiesTwitter users. Someone received a pack of bulgur instead of a console, one guy received a fitness set, and another had to be content with a foot massager.

It all looks like a common Amazon builder error, but one Reddit user noticed something strange:

“I just tracked the driver and saw that he was ina couple of houses away from me on the map. The next moment a van pulls up to my driveway and stops. The driver does not get out, pauses for 10 seconds and drives away. I was told that the package was given to a resident and delivered,” said Reddit user Adgej123.

eBay is flooded with offers for salePlayStation 5 at very inflated prices. Some lots reach $6,000. On average, they ask for S1,300 for a basic console. It is possible that some employees decided to cash in on the hype around the console.
