The US Air Force deployed four strategic missiles to Europeaircraft of the 7th bomber wing. Two bombers arrived in the region on 23 May and two more on 25 May. B-1B Lancers are based in the UK at the Royal Air Force Base Fairford (Fairord).
The supersonic planes took off from Dyess Base in Texas. The flight to Europe took 12 hours. It is worth noting that in the Baltic Sea area, B-1B Lancers were met by a Russian Su-27 fighter.
