A robot guide appeared in the Moscow aquarium

The robot knows how to navigate among the aquariums, talk about the inhabitants of the aquarium and answer questions

visitors. He also continues the exhibition, supplementing information about aquatic life with pictures that are broadcast on his screen.

The promobot recognizes the faces and speech of people, moves independently, avoiding obstacles and does not need to be accompanied by a person. The robot knows all the information about each inhabitant of the aquarium and thanks to artificial intelligence (AI) can answer any question of the guests. Especially for this project, robotics, together with ichthyologists, created a database on marine and freshwater inhabitants - in total, there are more than 12 thousand aquatic inhabitants in the aquarium. According to the developers, this is the only robot in the world that knows so many aquatic creatures.

“According to some characteristics, robotic guides evensurpass a person in this role - they can answer the most difficult questions, they never get sick, do not go on vacation and are always friendly. Moreover, a robot in an exhibition space is both an employee and an interesting exhibit. "

Oleg Kivokurtsev, Development Director of the manufacturer Promobot

The robot has unique sensorsobstacles designed specifically for the robot guide. With their help, he can navigate a difficult space, and also does not offend people who came on an excursion.

This is not the first time a robot has becomea full-fledged tour guide in the museum. Promobots are already working as guides at the UNESCO site in Dagestan - on the territory of the ancient architectural complex "Citadel Naryn-Kala", in the Museum of Contemporary Russian History in Moscow, the historical park "Russia is my history" and the Tula State Museum of Weapons.

The Promobot company was founded in 2015 in Perm. It is the largest manufacturer of autonomous service robots in Europe. Promobots work in 40 countries around the world as administrators, promoters, consultants, guides and concierges, replacing or supplementing "live" employees.
