ISS warned of the threat of collision with the American satellite

Roscosmos has warned the International Space Station (ISS) of the threat of collision with a non-working

American satellite BRICSat-2. The latter was launched into orbit in 2019 on SpaceX's Falcon Heavy rocket.

To avoid a collision with BRICSat-2, the orbitISS will be corrected. The approach of the station with space debris should occur on September 14 at 02:23 Moscow time. The ISS can make an evasion maneuver between 00:00 and 01:00 Moscow time.

It is worth noting that BRICSat-2 was operated by the United States Navy (Navy). The device was an experimental radio satellite.

RBC also writes that in July, the mission control center carried out an unscheduled correction of the ISS orbit to avoid a possible collision with space debris.
