SMS crashed on many Android smartphones

Android smartphone users noticed that SMS function broke after Carrier Services update. This service

manages the connection with the cellular network provider.

Over the past week, many usershave complained in the OnePlus forums and in Play Store reviews that they are seeing problems with SMS messages. Removing Carrier Services helped fix the bug. This service was recently updated to version 50. The update began rolling out on December 2. The first complaints appeared immediately after that.

In particular, users have noticed that SMS is blocked when sending or receiving. The bug has been spotted on smartphones OnePlus, LG, Motorola, Samsung and TCL.

Google has already told The Verge that it has fixed the issue. The company recommends that users update to the latest version of Carrier Services through the Play Store to get the patch.
