With four gigabytes, this is more of a demo version, an inexpensive opportunity to understand what Android TV can do (Netflix is already preinstalled, for example, which not all TVs in this class can boast of). Therefore, the Haier 32K6600SG TV can be called a simple and affordable solution for situations where there are no high requirements for hardware and video quality. For example, as a second or even third TV in the house - for the kitchen, children's room or summer cottage, where no one will peer at the number of pixels per inch. What does it look like?

Neutral, in the spirit of the times. There are thin black frames around the screen. From the outer trim of the front panel - only the manufacturer's logo in the center. At one time it was fashionable for the kitchen to buy white TVs. So, with the modern minimum frame thickness, the point in this disappears: it is already unclear where the screen is, and where the body is.

Matte black plastic is easy to coverfingerprints. The screen cover is semi-glossy, the reflections on it are clearly visible, but this is not a "mirror". The Haier 32K6600SG does not break records in thickness, but it does not break out of trends either. The maximum thickness at the base is 6.5 cm; from about the middle of the height it decreases by a “step”, gradually decreasing to a minimum. The stand consists of two plastic parts. Each of them is attached to the base with two screws, they are held firmly, the TV is stable. The case has a standard VESA mount 200x100 for hanging from wall or ceiling brackets.

What are the connectors?

The connectors are located on two panels in the rearparts of the case. The one that is accessible from the side is more convenient for frequent cable connections. It contains an HDMI connector, cable and antenna inputs, two USB ports, CI and MicroSD slots (it is signed as TF, that is, TransFlash), a headphone jack. Getting close to the second panel is not so convenient, it looks “face down” behind the TV. It has two more HDMI ports, a component video input, "tulips" for audio connection, an optical interface and an RJ-45 network port. Moreover, there are Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 wireless interfaces. Not bad for a TV of this level.

What's inside?

A modern smart TV is, in fact,full-fledged computer. Only not very powerful, at the level of a budget smartphone. In the middle of the Haier 32K6600SG are hidden a processor with four ARM Cortex-A53 cores operating at 1.3 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of storage. Responsible for the graphics chip Mali-470 MP. The sophisticated user is not impressed, but do not forget that this is not a smartphone, and the performance requirements are different here. The interface works quite smoothly, although it feels like there isn't much headroom. You can also play the pre-installed Asphalt 8 without any problems. But the second of the included toys, Real Racing, puts everything in its place at the first start. No, it's not about performance, but about the fact that it needs to download and install additional data to run it. And in four gigabytes of built-in memory there is practically no room for maneuver. Theoretically, you can use a memory card to install programs there, since there is a MicroSD slot. But it will not work outright to crank such a maneuver, by default the card is generally connected exclusively in read mode. In general, the thrifty enthusiast has something to keep himself busy.

How is it managed?

Above I already talked about the saving joystick, butthis is, of course, an emergency. It performs the function of the central control buttons of the remote control, channel switching and volume. But the remote control, as you know, is wireless, and there are more buttons on it. Not that all of them are vital, but for quick access to a number of functions they are useful and convenient. The remote also has a microphone for voice commands that can be given to the Google Voice Assistant. Let me remind you that the remote control uses Bluetooth technology, so you don't have to aim it exactly at the infrared receiver, as in a regular TV.

For even greater ease of operation, you canuse additional Bluetooth accessories, such as keyboards or joysticks. And the two USB ports on board perfectly understand the wired keyboard and mouse connected to them. This is very important: how will you play, is it inconvenient from the remote control?

How good is the image?

It depends on what to count on. A more specialized solution is needed to create a home theater system where the TV will play high-quality video and you and your guests will watch it closely. And if the TV set must play in the background in the kitchen, or twist cartoons in the nursery, then it will do. The budget doesn't include a flagship bunch of image enhancement technologies. We have an honest HD here: 1366 × 768. With a 32-inch diagonal, this gives a pixel density of about 49 ppi, quite enough for comfortable viewing from a distance of two meters. Of course, it can be done with more or less, we are talking here about some approximate optimal distance, beyond which a person with perfect vision will not get a special effect from an increase in pixel density.

Viewing angles are wide enough, at maximumdeviations, there is a slight decrease in contrast. The picture is generally pleasant, it looks quite lively and juicy. The stock of brightness (according to the passport - 180 cd / m2) is enough for most situations. There are no bells and whistles like quantum dots, local dimming or HDR support. From the image adjustments, in addition to the usual brightness, contrast and saturation, gamma and color temperature settings are available. There is a digital noise reduction function (MPEG Noise Reduction).

The TV has two 8-watt speakers. They sound good, they do not rattle at volume. The Simulated Surround Sound technology is designed to improve the sound quality and give it volume, this option must be found and activated in the settings. There is also a five-band equalizer and several other sound tuning options.
