Toshiba has officially announced its retirement from the laptop market.

Why?

Toshiba laptops started

to produce as much as 35 years ago - in 1985. It is she who is considered the manufacturer of the first mass devices in the usual form factor of a book. In the 90s, the company released the successful Satellite series laptops, after which it introduced the thin and light (by those standards) Portégé models.

But with the release of Lenovo ThinkPad, Apple MacBook andother notebooks Dell, HP and others. Toshiba lost its leadership position and could not cope with the competition. In 2018, the company sold its PC division to Sharp for $ 36 million, but retained 19.9% ​​of the shares.
