US plans to test light tanks

In 2021, the U.S. Army decided to test prototypes of light tanks.Based on their results, the military will decide,

what kind of vehicle to put into service with the infantry.

Two types of tanks will be tested during the trials.BAE Systems and General Dynamics as part of the MPF tender, which was announced in 2018.According to the terms of the order, light tanks were to be created that could be transported by C-130 Super Hercules and C-17 Globemaster III aircraft.In total, BAE Systems and General Dynamics developed 12 prototypes of vehicles.

Tank inspections will take place at Fort Bragg in North Carolina from January 4 to June 2021. The first light combat vehicles should enter the Army by 2025.
