The Central Bank proposes to introduce robotic pawnshops

To launch the innovation, it will be necessary to make a number of changes to the legislation, in particular the possibility

conduct simplified customer identificationthrough the Unified Identification and Authentication System (ESIA) and the Unified Biometric System (UBS), the issuance of a security ticket in electronic form and the inclusion of individual terms of the loan agreement into it. It is assumed that all these changes will be adopted by the end of the year.

Representatives of the Central Bank told the publication thatthe new technological solution will increase the availability of pawnshops, thanks to the fact that their presence in retail outlets and public places will be ensured without the need to open new offices.

The bot recognizes the fineness and weight of a gold item, based on the assessment, credits the amount to the borrower's bank card. The technology allows you to quickly open a full-fledged mobile pawnshop in any place where there is sufficient traffic of potential customers.

The new practice will also help reduce the cost of loans for clients, said Ivan Zimin, Director of the Central Bank's Financial Technologies Department.

The publication notes that this practice has already beenwas realized: the Mosgorlombard network began to install robotic devices Custody Bot at the end of May this year. However, without adjusting the legislation, such pawnshops could only work as diagnostic stands; as before, only an employee could conclude an agreement and issue a paper security ticket after full-time identification.
