9 months after release: Google stops production and sales of Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL

Google unveiled the Pixel 4a this week and confirmed that it is preparing for the announcement of the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G, which

should debut October 8th. At the same time, the manufacturer decided to "bury" the current flagships.

What does it mean

Google representatives confirmed that the companydiscontinues production and sales of last year's Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. And this despite the fact that they were released only 9 months ago, and the next Pixel 5 is waiting for a few more months. Apparently, the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are not popular with buyers.

Google Stores in select countries and retail stores are now selling off remaining inventory.

But support for flagships will continue: smartphones will receive updates to the Android operating system and security patches until October 2022.

We will remind, recently Google also stopped selling Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL.
