American B-1B Lancer strategic bombers dropped bombs for the first time during exercises in Latvia

US Air Force B-1B Lancer strategic bombers took part in

small exercises in Latvia. The US Embassy reported this.

What is known

During the event, supersonic aircraft for the first timedropped bombs on the Adazi base. The U.S. embassy said in a statement that the exercises help strengthen relationships with NATO allies.

The US Air Force deployed four strategic missiles to Europeaircraft of the 7th bomber wing. Two bombers arrived in the region on 23 May and two more on 25 May. B-1B Lancers are based in the UK at the Royal Air Force Base Fairford (Fairord).

The supersonic planes took off from Dyess Base in Texas. The flight to Europe took 12 hours. It is worth noting that in the Baltic Sea area, B-1B Lancers were met by a Russian Su-27 fighter.
