The outbreak of COVID-19 occurred in the "clean zone": in the Mariinsky hospital in St. Petersburg

According to media reports, there are now about 250 patients with coronavirus in the hospital, a third of whom

sick within its walls.

We suspended both planned and emergency admission of patients for a day, pending the receipt of the corresponding official order from the [city administration] of Rospotrebnadzor following the inspection.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Mariinsky hospital has beenrepurposed for coronavirus patients and resumed scheduled appointments at the end of July. At the same time, the institution retained a specialized department for patients with coronavirus.

According to a representative of the medical institution, as part of the check, a coronavirus was detected in a number of patients who are not being treated in the COVID department of the Mariinsky Hospital, but under a different profile.

The hospital's press service told portal 78.ru that the admission of patients for import has been temporarily stopped. The medical institution also clarified that its management is waiting for further information, which “usually appears within a day,” whether the hospital will be closed.
