Traces of a human ancestor unknown to science found in human DNA

As it became known, recently scientists conducted a fresh study, as a result of which in the DNA of people

Traces of a human ancestor unknown to science were discovered.

So, within the framework of scientific work, specialists fromCold Spring Harbor Laboratories used the Bayesian ARGweaver-D algorithm to study patterns within genomes. In the case of the above study, it was about studying the DNA of two Neanderthals at once, one Denisovan and two modern Africans. As a result, scientists came to the conclusion that about 1% of the DNA of the ancient Denisovans has an origin unknown to science.

After conducting further analysis, the experts found out thatabout 15% of the discovered "super-ancient" regions of DNA found in the genome of the Denisovans are still present in the genome of modern humans. Thus, a completely new field for discussion and research has opened up for scientists. True, it is worth noting that they are inclined to believe that in this case we are talking about a trace of Homo erectus, the remains of which, unfortunately, have not survived to this day.
