This is the dark mode that was added in the version forAndroid and iOS. Instead of using a completely dark mode, the company decided to add a dark gray theme to the application. According to a company representative, during the tests it was found that a completely black theme with white contrast can lead to eye problems. That is why they chose gray color.
To use the new mode, update tothe latest available version of the application. Dark mode will automatically appear for users with iOS 13 and Android 10 if they have the system Dark Mode active. Others can turn it on by openingSettingsWhatsapp > Chats > Subject > Dark.
