China proposes to oblige travelers to receive QR codes with COVID status

President of the People's Republic of China (PRC) Xi Jinping has proposed requiring travelers to receive

QR codes with COVID status, that is, information about whether they are sick. These codes will have to be mutually recognized in all countries.

The Chinese leader made this proposal at the virtual summit of the Group of Twenty (G20).Xi Jinping believes that the world needs to restore supply chains and streamline the movement of people around the planet.

QR codes will have to solve this problem. They will be generated based on the results of the coronavirus test. Thanks to QR codes, it will be possible to find out the health status of travelers.

China already has a system of "health codes". It is powered by WeChat and Alipay. The system remembers with whom the person contacted, how he moved, and gives him a green, yellow or red stake. People with red and yellow codes need to comply with quarantine.
