Yesterday's WSJ post suggestingthe use of the USB-C port in the iPhone 8 has caused some controversy. However, continued use of Lightning along with support for USB-C Power Delivery would be the most profitable move for Apple. It would also make it possible to connect the iPhone to the MacBook 2016 without using a connector or adapter. Popular Android smartphones, including the Google Pixel and Nexus 5X / 6P, already support USB-PD.

Co also said that the premium version of the iPhone 8 will charge even faster thanks to a dual battery.
