After 8 years, Apple “buried” the first generation MacBook Pro with Retina display

Apple has decided to retire another of its devices with an 8-year history.

What does it mean

The first MacBook Pro laptop with a Retina display, which was presented during WWDC in 2012, is considered obsolete.

This means that Apple service centers are nowwill not accept or repair 15-inch MacBook Pro Retina released since mid-2012. And if you need to replace the battery or fix a breakdown, you will have to contact third-party repair centers or handle it yourself.

Let us remember that at one time this laptop was called“a breakthrough in display development.” However, 7–8 months after using it, users began to complain about the anti-glare coating on the screen peeling off: it looked like scratches and bubbles. In 2015, Apple recognized this case as covered by warranty and began replacing MacBook Pro screens for free.
