US issues set of rules to protect against space cyberattacks

The White House has released a new memo saying the US will pay increased attention to

protecting space systems from cyber attacks.

New rules for cybersecurity in spaceare set out in the Space Policy Directive-5 (SPD-5). The United States believes that space systems and their supporting infrastructure should be designed taking into account the risks of cyberattacks. The country needs to create complexes that could "conduct continuous monitoring" and "resist malicious cyber attacks aimed at manipulating, disrupting or spying on operations."

The White House said that space cyber threats come constantly, and they come not only from China.

Earlier, the United States published the doctrine of the Space Forces, which says that the Space Forces can resort to not only defensive but also offensive actions.
