Activision Blizzard report: new Call of Duty in 2020, more re-releases and the failure of Warcraft 3 Reforged

The company plans to release several more re-releases and “reimaginings”, which could be announced as early as 2020.

At the end of 2020, Activision plans to releaseand the new Call of Duty. The company does not specify who is developing the shooter this time, which is alarming. Back in May 2019, rumors appeared on the Internet about problems in the creation of Call of Duty 2020. According to unconfirmed information, the development was initially carried out by Sledgehammer and Raven, but the project was eventually transferred to Treyarch.

At the same time, Modern Warfare pleasedActivision. The project managed to attract the interest of gamers who abandoned the series, but decided to return, which the company considers to be a merit of cross-play. The Battle Pass in Modern Warfare was also a source of pride.

In turn, Call of Duty: Mobile has already collected 150 million downloads.

How's Blizzard doing?

Already in mid-2020 Blizzardwill launch alpha testing of Diablo Immortal. The game will not become a bridge for the company’s transition to the mobile segment, since the key platform for “Metelitsa” will remain PC. Still, the studio has several more mobile games in its plans.

World of Warcraft continues to grow, and the numbersubscribers have doubled compared to June 2019. Thanks for this to WoW Classic, which has gained particular popularity in Asia. So Blizzard will continue to develop new and classic World of Warcraft and is already preparing content additions.
