American investor made the third dive to the bottom of the Mariana Trench in the history of mankind

Victor Veskovo set a record for deep-sea diving. Before that, at the bottom of the Mariana Trench there were only

American Don Walsh and Swiss Jacques Pikkard on the bathyscaphe "Trieste" in 1960 and director James Cameron in 2012.

During the expedition, Veskovo discovered several new types of marine animals and discovered a plastic bag and candy wrappers at the bottom of the Mariana Trench.

In the future, researchers are going to test creatures living at the bottom of the cavity for the presence of microplastic in their organisms.
