Apple introduced iOS 10 with a redesigned lock screen and smarter Siri

Today at WWDC, Apple introduced iOS 10, the latest version of its operating system for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. iOS 10

comes with a number of new features as wellcorrections. The highlight of the update is the smarter and more powerful Siri. Soon, developers will be able to integrate Siri into their applications, thanks to the SDK and APIs that Apple will release with iOS 10.

Redesigned Lock Screen

In iOS 10, Apple redesigned the lock screen with improved 3D Touch integration.

With 3D Touch integration, you can answerto messages, view email content and much more directly from the lock screen. A “Clear All" button will also appear to remove all notifications from the lock screen.


Apple also redesigned the control center.A special section dedicated to music has been added, access to which is done by swiping to the left. The iOS 10 lock screen will also provide quick access to widgets, swipe to the left, and swipe to the right will open the camera.

The main screen now also gets a deeper integration of 3D Touch, which allows you to view additional information from the application without opening it.

QuickType with Siri Integration

Apple added Siri integration in QuickType. This will allow Siri to automatically provide relevant information depending on the conversation. For example, if your friend asks where you are, Siri will offer you ready-made options for sending your location.



Phone application

The new Phone application in iOS 10 is now able to decrypt your voicemail in text form.

There is support for the VoIP API, through which applications such as WhatsApp, Skype, Hangouts, etc. get the interface of a standard phone application.


Updated iMessage app in iOS 10 will getImproved preview of links, videos and other files that are sent through the messenger. Emoji in iMessage will be three times bigger and QuickType will offer emoticons based on your message. You can also replace certain words with emoticons.

There will be a new feature with a bubble effect, whichallows you to send messages with in the form of bubbles, with the ability to hide messages and much more. You can also send drawings or your own signature by drawing them in a special field. iMessage now includes new full-screen effects and more.

HomeKit standalone application

The standalone HomeKit app should have been releasedwith iOS 9 last year, but this did not happen for some reason. A year later, Apple finally released ‘Home’ for iOS 10, which will allow you to manage all HomeKit devices from one place.

Improved Photo App

In iOS 10, Apple improved the Photos app by addingediting tools and filters for them. The application will not replace Photoshop or Lightroom, but the basic tools are enough for the needs of most iOS users.
