Apple has already tested foldable iPhones for durability

Rumors have been circulating online for a long time that Apple is working on an iPhone with a flexible screen. Now there is information about

that two prototypes of a foldable smartphone have passed durability tests.

The information was shared by sources from the Asian supply chain. It is reported that so far the prototypes are only iPhone cases with displays. That is, they have no internal components.

These prototypes were allegedly tested in China forApple's main supplier Foxconn. The first prototype, according to sources, is made in a clamshell form factor, like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. The second prototype implements a design similar to the Microsoft Surface Duo. That is, the smartphone uses two separate screens and folds into a book. It's unclear if Apple has a preference for any design.
