Changed their mind: OnePlus will not update OnePlus 11R smartphones for 5 years

We recently wrote that the new OnePlus 11R smartphones will receive an expanded support program, namely

operating system updates for 4 years and security patches for 5 years. But it turned out that this was not the case.

What is known

Extended support was then reported on TwitterOnePlus support. Now the employees have published a new statement in which they reported the error. According to them, OnePlus 11R will have a standard update period: 3 versions of Android and 4 years of security updates.

The support team added that the new extended update policy is for “selected devices.” At the moment, this list only includes OnePlus 11.
