Counterpoint: global smartphone sales in the first quarter of 2020 fell by 13%, but not Xiaomi and Realme

Analytics company Counterpoint has published an analysis of the global smartphone market for the first quarter of 2020.

Due to the global situation, global salessmartphones fell by 13%. The total number of devices shipped is less than 300 million units. The last time this figure was in 2014. The only companies that have not seen a decline in annual shipments are Xiaomi and Realme. On the contrary, the indicators for these manufacturers increased (+7% YoY and +157% YoY, respectively).

In general, the picture still remains the same.Samsung and Huawei are the top sellers. Apple, in turn, confidently occupies third position in the ranking, followed by many Chinese companies that are fighting for the last two places in the Top 5 list.
