Director of the films "Aquaman" and "Fast and the Furious 7" JamesVan will be the producer of the film, and Simon McQuid will take a place in the director's chair. McQuid already has some experience with game-related projects. He shot a funny PS3 ad featuring famous PlayStation characters a few years ago.
Inspired by two previous films:1995's Mortal Kombat and 1997's Mortal Kombat Annihilation. South Australian Premier Steven Marshall said it would be the largest film production in the state's history.
