French inventor overcomes English Channel with jet board

French inventor and businessman Frankie Zapata, known to many as the “flying soldier,” flew

across the English Channel using his Flyboard Air invention. The journey was successful for him on the second try.

Last time a successful flight was prevented too muchhigh waves. Halfway from France, Zapata was unable to land on a water platform for refueling and fell into the strait. Recently, he made another attempt to cross the English Channel, this time successful. The inventor covered the path from the town of Sangatta to the coast of British Dover (36 kilometers) in 22 minutes. During the flight, he was able to reach a record speed for Flyboard Air - 202 km/h. Now Frankie Zapata and his team are waiting for permission from the French authorities to test a flying car.
