Galaxy Note 20 5G and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G officially unveiled

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra review

After months of waiting and numerous rumors, it finally took place

the official release of Samsung Galaxy Note 20. As expected, Samsung was again able to surprise us, and what exactly, we will tell you later in our review of new products.

Design

Bright, rectangular yet elegant. Note phones have always had sharper lines and angles than Galaxy S phones. This concept seems to fit their notebook ideals and show a more serious tone. Both the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra have a modern premium look. Ultra is a typical glass sandwich panel, but the back has a soft matte finish. The Note 20 is clad in polycarbonate. Both have super slim bezels around the displays and impressive camera modules on the back.

Instead of bright 2019 Samsung Notes colors onthis time I chose more mature, muted colors. The Note 20 Ultra is available in black, white or the new bronze color, which we believe will be the most popular. The Note 20 comes in the same bronze color, followed by green and gray.

They don't vary much in size. The Note 20 Ultra measures 77.2 x 164.8 x 8.1 cm, while the Note 20 is only slightly smaller at 75.2 x 161.6 x 8.3 cm.Obviously, both are packed full of powerful internal components and the battery to keep them alive. The Note 20 Ultra weighs in at 208g, while the Note 20 is slightly lighter at 192g.

Another notable difference between them is thatWhile both have a back that curves towards the edges for ergonomics, only the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has a side display on the front. The Note 20 features a more classic flat screen that will appeal to those who are not a fan of curved screens.

Display

Of course, both phones have AMOLED panels. So, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has a WQHD + screen with a resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, while the Note 20 has 1080 x. 2400 FHD + panel. That's 393 PPI for the Note 20 and an insane 511 PPI for the Note 20 Ultra.

But while resolution is not a problem, it issharp enough on both phones - only the Note 20 Ultra has an ultra-high refresh rate. The Ultra AMOLED screen has a dynamic refresh rate of 120Hz, while the Galaxy Note 20 will stuck at 60Hz.

Displays run almost edge-to-edge thanks toultra-thin bezel and only have a tiny hole in the center of the top for a selfie camera. A design aesthetic that we are all almost used to.

Specifications

Galaxy Note has always been “the king of technicalcharacteristics ". The Note 20 Ultra is, of course, the most powerful Note of the future, featuring a 3.0GHz octa-core 7nm processor with a choice of 8GB or 12GB of RAM and storage options from 128GB to 512GB. GB with microSD slot for expansion. The Galaxy Note 20 has an 8-core 7nm chip clocked at 2.7GHz, 8GB of RAM, and 128 / 256GB of storage.

Both the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra willsupport 5G connectivity, but depending on market and location, you may only be able to access 4G models. The 4G Note 20 Ultra will only have 8GB of RAM, but will have three different storage options, while the 4G Note 20 will only come in one 8GB / 256GB variant.

Camera

The camera modules of Note 20 phones are definitelylook like they are needed for the business. The Note 20 Ultra certainly pushes things to their limits. It has a 108MP main camera, a 12MP ultra wide-angle camera and a 12MP telephoto lens. Thanks to clever optics, it provides 5x pure optical zoom. Thanks to software enhancements, we get 50x super-resolution zoom for maximum image enhancement.

Galaxy Note 20 is a little more modest - it has the main12MP camera, 12MP ultra wide angle and 64MP telephoto lens. There is no pure optical zoom here, but there is 3x hybrid zoom and 30x super-resolution program zoom.

Both camera modules feature optical image stabilization, which improves video recording stability and improves low-light shots when you need longer shutter settings.

Galaxy Note 20 series brings things to thecinematic quality with 8K video recording at 24 frames per second. You have a full-fledged professional mode that gives you access to all camera settings - even setting up directional audio recording by adjusting the gain of the three internal microphones.

On the front, it looks like we have the same selfie cameras for both phones - a 10MP camera with dual-pixel autofocus.

Improved S Pen

The S Pen is a proprietary Note feature: a stylus powered by Wacom located right inside the phone. It has provided Note fans with a realistic writing and drawing experience for years, and this year it got another improvement. Its gyroscope and acceleration sensors have been improved to achieve a response time of 8ms and increase sensitivity to various movements and tilts, making it more natural.

DeX - enhanced wireless connectivity

Samsung DeX is a pretty interesting nichea function that continues to evolve. It turns your phone into a mini PC, completely changing the interface to a desktop computer - you only need to connect it to an external monitor and keyboard.

Previously, this required a DeX docking station. Then the DeX cable. Well, in 2020 - wireless! You can connect your Galaxy Note 20 or Note 20 Ultra to any smart TV (Miracast) and you will have this desktop interface in no time.
