Huawei introduced Ascend 910 AI processor and Mindspore framework

Huawei held an official presentation at which introduced products for the field of creation

AI technology and machine learning.

What is it

The first product is a dedicated server AIAscend 910 processor for cloud computing. Its performance reaches 256 TFLOPS for floating point operations and 512 TFLOPS for calculations with integer precision.

The maximum power consumption of Ascend 910 is 310 watts.

Representatives of Huawei claim that their processor can train neural networks in a matter of minutes and "has more computing power than any other AI processor in the world."

The second product is Mindspore. This is an artificial intelligence-based application development environment designed to work with the Ascend 910. This framework has 20% fewer lines of main code compared to similar solutions (again, according to the manufacturer).

The open-source Mindspore will be available in the first quarter of 2020 and will help Huawei accelerate the implementation of AI technology.
