Huawei MatePad Pro 5G: “leaky” QHD-display, Kirin 990 chip, 7250 mAh battery with 40 W fast charge and price tag from 550 euros

Following the folding smartphone Mate Xs, Huawei also announced a flagship in the global market

MatePad Pro tablet, which debuted in China in November.

What is known

New received 10.8-inch QHD IPS display with a notch for the front camera of 8 megapixels. The screen supports DCI-P3 color gamut and covers 90% of the entire front panel. For the performance of the MatePad Pro, the Kirin 990 processor with 6/8 GB of RAM and 128/256/512 GB of ROM is responsible, and for autonomy - a 7250 mAh battery with fast charging at 40 W, wireless at 15 W and reversible at 7.5 W.

The tablet has Harman Kardon stereo speakers withproprietary technology Histen 6.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, USB-C port and proprietary stylus M-Pencil. It recognizes 4069 levels of clicks. Also, MatePad Pro equipped with a 13-megapixel main camera with aperture f / 1.8 and LED-flash. The tablet is running Android 10 with the EMUI 10 shell. There is no fingerprint scanner in it. Instead, there is a Face Unlock feature.

Price and when to wait

On sale, Huawei MatePad will appear in April with the following prices:

  • Huawei MatePad Pro (LTE) 6/128 GB - 600 Euro
  • Huawei MatePad Pro (LTE) 8/256 GB - 700 euros
  • Huawei MatePad Pro 5G 8/256 GB - 800 Euro
  • Huawei MatePad Pro 5G 8/512 950 Euro

The novelty will compete with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 and Galaxy Tab S6 5G.
