"Hubble" comes back to life: after another breakdown, an important camera started working

Specialists from NASA confirmed that they were able to restore the operation of one of the Hubble cameras. She was chosen

the first recovery tool, since failures occur less frequently with it.

All other scientific instruments on the telescope remain in safe mode and cannot be used for now. Despite this, the telescope is already continuing scientific observations.

The Hubble team successfully restored the operation of the Advanced Camera for Surveys instrument, and it began scientific observations.

NASA message

The last malfunction of the telescope occurred at the end of October. According to NASA experts, the device began sending messages about synchronization problems in internal communications.

Without synchronization, complex scientific equipment cannotcapable of correctly processing commands and collecting data. As a result, on October 25, 2021, Hubble instruments went into safe mode until the problems were resolved.

The team will continue to look for a possible workaround this week and assess the feasibility of its implementation.
