Insider: Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 will get 8 cores and will be 17-20% more productive than Snapdragon 855+

Thanks to a Chinese insider, some specifications of the new top-end Snapdragon 865 chip have appeared online.

According to the source, the processor will be equipped with eightcores: one ARM Cortex A77 with a frequency of up to 2.84 GHz, three more Cortex A77, but with a frequency of up to 2.42 GHz, and four Cortex A55 with 1.8 GHz. They will be complemented by the updated video accelerator Adreno 650, which is 20% more productive than the Adreno 640 in Snapdragon 855+. In general, the power of the new SoC will increase by 17-20%.

Recall that Snapdragon 865 will also be builton Samsung's 7nm or 5nm process technology instead of TSMC's. The chipset will be available in two versions: with and without a built-in Snapdragon X55 modem. He is also credited with supporting new technologies, as well as LPDDR5 RAM.
