The mission launched on July 30, 2020, and now, after almost six months of flight, the rover reached its goal and even managed to take the first pictures. The boarding process took 7 minutes.

Perseverance is equipped with a microphone thatfor the first time, it will allow you to record sound on Mars. In addition, the rover has many cameras and even its own copter - Ingenuity. He will search for locations and map the area. Perseverance, in turn, will study the soil of Mars for the presence of microorganisms. By the way, in honor of the successful landing of Perseverance, Google added a small Easter egg to the search engine. To find it, write the name of the rover in the search.

In case you didn’t know, Perseverance is the second rover of this size on the planet. The first was Curiosity. He landed on Mars in 2012.
