The Lord of the Rings universe will get another game, but this time the main character will be Gollum.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, for the developmenttook on the studio Daedalic Entertainment, which you may know for State of Mind, the Deponia series and The Long Journey Home. The studio's new project is called Lord of the Rings: Gollum and it will be a prequel, the action of which will take place before Gollum's first appearance. Gamers will be told what the character did after receiving the One Ring.
“We have a story that we all knowfrom the book, but everything that happens to him before the book appears is the main theme that will be explored in the game,” said Carsten Fichtelmann, co-founder of Daedalic Entertainment.
The developers did not talk about the gameplay,but they clarified that Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be an action-adventure game with a focus on plot. The game is scheduled to be released in 2021 for PC and “all current platforms.”
