According to the German publication Welt, Ukraine wants to purchase a modern IRIS-T SLM air defense system from Germany.

We are talking about 11 installations worth 1,500,000,000Euro. They want to purchase them directly from the manufacturing company Diehl Defense. According to the source, Ukraine applied for an export license in early July, but it has not yet been approved by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
If everything works out, then the contract will be settledfor 5 years. Although the first deliveries of the system may begin at the end of this year. By the way, in addition to 11 installations, Ukraine should receive one or more IRIS-T SLM systems for free. Most likely, it was their production that the German Foreign Minister recently spoke about.
