Media: Ukraine will not receive SAMP-T, Italy will transfer air defense systems to Slovakia in exchange for Patriot for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The other day we wrote that Italy and France are completing the preparation of the SAMP/T air defense system for shipment to Ukraine.

Now information has emerged that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will most likely not receive the Italian-French complex.

What is known

According to the publication Corriere della Sera, Italywill transfer the air defense system not to Ukraine, but to Slovakia. In exchange for this, Slovakia will transfer its Patriot anti-aircraft missile system to Ukraine. He will first be sent to Germany. The APU training program will take place there.

Patriot is an American anti-aircraft missilecomplex developed by Raytheon. It consists of an air interception missile and a high performance radar system. The probability of hitting an aircraft is 0.8-0.9, and a tactical missile is 0.6-0.8. The cost of one rocket is about 3 million dollars.

By the way, Ukraine will soon receive one Patriot battery from the United States. Germany will also donate one air defense missile system battery and two launchers from the Netherlands.
