What is known
The new product was named Dimensity 700. The SoC is built on a 7-nanometer process technology. It boasts an integrated 5G modem that works on 5G networks simultaneously on two SIM cards. The maximum upload speed is 2.77 Gbps.
MediaTek Dimensity 700 received eight cores: two high-performance ARM Cortex-A76 with a maximum clock speed of 2.2 GHz and six energy-efficient ARM Cortex-A55 cores with a frequency of 2.0 GHz. The graphics accelerator model is the same as that of Dimensity 720 - Mali-G57. The novelty was also equipped with LPDDR4X RAM up to 12 GB with a frequency of 2133 MHz and a dual-channel UFS 2.2 drive.
MediaTek Dimensity 700 supports displays up to FHD + and up to 90GHz, cameras up to 64MP, 1080p 30fps video recording, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1.
When to expect
MediaTek has not announced when the first smartphones based on the new SoC will appear. Most likely, they should be expected in the first half of 2021.
