MediaTek announced today its new processor that will be used in smart TVs.
What is known
The SoC was named MediaTek MT9602. It received four Cortex-A53 cores with a maximum clock frequency of 1.5 GHz and a Mali-G52 MC1 video accelerator. The chip supports up to three HDMI 2.1a ports, Dolby Atmos audio technology, AV1 and AVS2 decoding, and several HDR standards such as Dolby Vision HDR, HDR10 +, BBC HLG, etc.
Of the interesting things in the new product, it is also worth noting the proprietary technologies AI-PQ and AI-AQ, which optimize the picture and sound in real time.
When to expect
The first to receive the MediaTek MT9602 chip will be Motorola's 4K TVs, which are to be presented in India on October 9th.
