Microsoft following Apple may abandon Intel chips, replacing them with its own ARM processors

Apple recently introduced its proprietary ARM processor M1 and the first devices with it. And now Bloomberg

writes that another large manufacturer is developing its own chip.

According to Bloomberg sources, Microsoft is leadingdevelopment of our own processors with ARM architecture for Microsoft Azure cloud services. By the way, cloud competitors like Amazon are already actively promoting similar initiatives.

In addition, the company thought about usingbranded processors in Surface family devices. Recently, Microsoft has been actively luring developers from companies such as Intel, Advanced Micro Devices, Nvidia and Qualcomm.

Microsoft is now primarily using processorsIntel, but the manufacturer also cooperates with AMD and Qualcomm. Therefore, the transition to its own chips will hit Intel more, which will soon lose Apple.

By the way, this news affected the company's shares. Intel shares immediately fell in price by 6.3%, falling to $47.46. And AMD shares lost 1%.
