Ukraine plans to purchase from Germany not only IRIS-T air defense systems, but also self-propelled ones
What is known
This was also reported by the Ukrainian Ambassador to GermanyAndrey Melnik in an interview with Ukrinform. We are talking about 100 self-propelled guns. Ukraine has already received a corresponding proposal from German industry. Now we just have to wait for permission from the government.
Let us remind you that recently Germany sent us 12 piecessuch self-propelled guns as military assistance. For those who do not know, this is a 155 mm self-propelled gun-howitzer developed by the German concern Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. It was adopted by the Bundeswehr in the fall of 1998. It uses a 52-caliber (8 m) barrel, an automatic loading system with 60 rounds of ammunition, 228 modular propellant charges and a modern ground navigation system. The firing range of the Panzerhaubitze 2000 is 30-50 km (depending on the projectile).
