Although Valve is in no hurry to release Half-Life 3, the series is still alive and tomorrow, November 19, the company can announce a new game in the universe.

There is no official confirmation, but a leakshared by the same source who leaked the first footage of Dota Underlords. Now, the informant has shared excerpts from an interview with Geoff Keighley, a journalist and producer of The Game Awards, who has long been friends with Valve. Judging by the text, Keighley spoke with Robin Walker, one of the developers of Team Fortress 2, and the name of the second speaker was not named, but presumably it was Gabe Newell himself.

Judging by the interview, Valve plans to announceHalf-Life: Alyx, a new game based on the universe, but for VR. In addition, journalist Geoff Keighley will release a report on The Final Hours about the development of the project, as he did with Half-Life, Half-Life 2 and Portal 2.

Half-Life: Alyx for Valve will be an experiment.The company wants to see the reaction of gamers, and then decide in which direction to move next. In addition, Valve has updated the VR engine and will now be able to release new games more often. In turn, Alyx will show which game mechanics are suitable for projects in virtual reality and which are not.

The name Half-Life was also mentioned in the interview.3, but don’t expect an announcement soon. Judging by the conversation, Valve does not yet know whether the company will focus on virtual reality or take on something new and big.

Announce Half-Life:Alyx can start showing additional materials about the project tomorrow, November 19, and December 12, at The Game Awards. There is no exact release date yet, but the interview talks about March 2020.

Valve graphic designer Ollie Moss also hinted at the imminent announcement of the game. On his Twitter page, he wrote: “What is your playlist for the occasion of “sending a project to release”? I’m asking for a friend.”
