Own processor, supercomputer and Omniverse platform: the highlights of NVIDIA GTC 2021

NVIDIA Omniverse Enterprise enables 3D development teams that are often large and geographically dispersed

- work together on complex projects.

Instead of meeting in person and sharing massive files, designers, artists and reviewers can work simultaneously in the virtual world from anywhere and on any device.

BMW Group is the first car manufacturer touses NVIDIA Omniverse to create a complete digital twin of an entire factory. Ericsson uses the Omniverse platform to model and visualize future 5G networks.

NVIDIA Omniverse softwareEnterprise is available as a subscription and includes NVIDIA Enterprise Support Services. The NVIDIA partner network of leading computer manufacturers ASUS, BOXX Technologies, Cisco, Dell Technologies, HP, Lenovo and Supermicro supports the NVIDIA Omniverse Enterprise.

NVIDIA Omniverse Enterprise is available as a subscriptionand includes not only all the necessary software, but also technical support services. Server hardware for Omniverse is manufactured by ASUS, BOXX Technologies, Cisco, Dell, HP, Lenovo and Supermicro.

Digital Twin System with Bentley Systems

Bentley Systems developed the iTwin system using NVIDIA Omniverse to create digital twins for factories and facilities in the heavy and mining industries.

Bentley Systems expands Bentley's iTwin platformand integrated NVIDIA Omniverse to create a graphics pipeline for AI-enhanced real-time rendering and digital twin simulation of infrastructure.

This integration enables visualization of digitalengineering-grade content accurate to the millimeter with photorealistic lighting and environmental effects across devices including web browsers, workstations, tablets, and virtual and augmented reality headsets from anywhere in the world.

Bentley iTwin is an open scalablea cloud platform that enables engineering companies and owner operators to create, visualize, and analyze digital twins of infrastructure assets.

Digital Information Professionals Use Itto inject engineering data generated with various design tools into a living digital twin and align it with reality data, IoT data, and other related data without disrupting ongoing processes.

Integration of the capabilities of the Bentley iTwin platform andNVIDIA Omniverse allows users to virtually explore large industrial plants and offshore facilities as if they were walking through infrastructure in real time, for purposes such as finding a path and optimizing safe routes.

BMW and the digital twin of the factory

The BMW Group is the first automaker to use NVIDIA Omniverse to create a complete digital twin of an entire factory.

With the NVIDIA Omniverse platform, the BMW Group is revolutionizing the development of complex production systems, ushering in a new era in automotive manufacturing.

Virtual Manufacturing Toolscheduling brings together a variety of scheduling data and applications and enables real-time interaction without compatibility constraints. Thus, both companies are setting new standards in virtual production planning.

Virtual production planning is already widespreadwidespread. However, until now, data had to be migrated from different applications, which not only took a long time, but also led to compatibility issues and did not always take into account the most recent data.

On the Omniverse platform as part of a commonSimulation collects operational data from all relevant databases. This eliminates the need to re-import the data. In this way, changes and adjustments can be evaluated already in the early planning stages and an overall view can be generated.

The BMW Group and NVIDIA have been working together for a long time.In the first pilot project, the American company equipped the BMW Group's logistics robots, as well as self-developed autonomous transport robots (STR), with high-performance technologies and special artificial intelligence modules for control.

New NVIDIA RTX GPUs Power Next-Generation Workstations and PCs for Millions of Artists, Designers, Engineers and Virtual Desktop Users

NVIDIA RTX A5000 and RTX A4000 desktop GPUsEquipped with second generation RT, third generation tensor cores, and increased CUDA cores for up to 2x faster machine learning, graphics processing and real-time rendering than the previous generation. These graphics cards will go on sale by the end of April.

The new NVIDIA RTX A2000, NVIDIA RTX A3000, RTX A4000, and RTX A5000 notebook GPUs deliver increased performance without sacrificing portability.

They feature the latest Max-Q and RTX technologies andPowered by the NVIDIA Studio ™ ecosystem, which includes specialized drivers that optimize the performance and stability of creative applications.

NVIDIA A10 and A16 are for hubsdata processing. These are less expensive and less powerful versions of the flagship A100, which nevertheless provide an increase in performance and the number of concurrent users by about twice.

Supercomputer Announcement

The company spoke about the upcoming supercomputer based on the new platform and promised to create a new class of desktops with ARM processors.

Swiss ALPS computer will be usedfor climate and weather research, physics and natural sciences. Other potential challenges include materials science, astrophysics, computational fluid dynamics, molecular dynamics, quantum chemistry, particle physics, economics and social sciences.

The creators promise that in comparison with the currentthe leader in AI - MLPerf - this mainframe will provide 7x the expansion of possibilities. ALPS will be operational by 2023 and will replace the Piz Daint supercomputer. The access to the facilities of the system will be opened for researchers from all over the world.
