Phones 2019 "price – quality"

These days, many are eager to buy a phone withflagship design, quality and even good performance for only 400-600 dollars. Typically, these smartphones are called "affordable flagships." They represent the most favorable ratio of price and quality.

The phones that we selected below are superior in performance and design, and their cost is reasonable. Meet the top 5 budget flagships.

OnePlus 7T

  • 90 Hz display
  • Impressive performance
  • Good battery life
  • Charges very fast

  • Low light performance is not exactly flagship
  • No wireless charging

OnePlus remains the best choice for the budgetflagship this year. The OnePlus 7T has a 90Hz display like the Pro version and a triple camera setup, extremely fast performance thanks to the Snapdragon 855+ chip under the hood, clean, clutter-free and improved camera quality. Add to that impressive battery life, flagship design and super-fast charging.

Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL

  • Incredible, best-in-class camera
  • Great performance
  • Clean software, years of guaranteed software updates

  • Outdated appearance, plastic case
  • Chip is not the fastest

Google Pixel 3a brought a small revolution to the worldaffordable phones: For just $400 for the smaller Pixel 3a and $470 for the larger Pixel 3a XL, you're getting a flagship camera that no other phone in this price range can give you. So if you want a cheap phone and a great camera, this is pretty much your only option.

Google makes some compromises tomake phones so affordable. First of all, from the point of view of style and appearance, since the 3a series is made of plastic and has not quite a solid build quality of the modern flagship. Secondly, the display bezels, which are definitely larger than other flagships, give the phone an outdated look.

But if you don't care, you'll be happyperformance, and 3 years of timely software updates — This is another great thing that you don't get on other devices.

Xiaomi Mi 9

  • Premium build quality
  • Good main camera
  • Great performance
  • Nice price

  • The fingerprint sensor is a little unreliable

Xiaomi Mi 9 — the most affordable phone withthe latest Snapdragon 855 chip and perhaps the most affordable phone with this flagship chip on board. It has a very stylish slim design, an excellent camera and a battery that lasts a long time. The only big drawback is the MIUI user interface.

Honor View 20

  • Unique V-shaped design
  • 7 nm Kirin 980 processor (fast)
  • big battery
  • 48 megapixel camera works very well

  • No AMOLED screen

Honor is an offshoot of the Chinese giantHuawei, but it works without physical stores and does not have a large marketing budget, which saves a lot of money. This is what makes phones like the Honor View 20 affordable.

View 20 is equipped with a 6.4-inch LCD screen andHuawei's own Kirin 980 chip, the first 7nm chip ever released for Android phones. Huawei's years of chip-making effort have certainly paid off, as the Kirin 980 outperforms the Snapdragon 845 in performance. The View 20 is also equipped with a large 4000 mAh battery and looks very attractive with a V-shape on the back. The phone also comes with a 48 megapixel Sony sensor for the main camera. This sensor combines four pixels into one to produce 12 megapixel images with superior nighttime performance.

Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro

  • Unbelievable value for money
  • Full screen mode
  • Fast performance
  • MIUI is feature rich

  • Slow Pop Up Selfie Camera
  • Camera performance is not up to par
  • No wireless charging

We didn't get a Pocophone this year, but wegot something even better. Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro (or Redmi K20 Pro in some regions) — flagship phone. It has an AMOLED display, Snapdragon 855 chip, three cameras and even a headphone jack! The downside to the hidden selfie camera is that face unlock is quite slow, especially since the mechanism on the Mi 9T Pro is not the fastest.

We also like the big 4000 battery.mAh under the hood, the phone lasts from one to two days, so the battery life is really good. What we didn’t like was the photos taken by 9T Pro. However, they are not terrible.
