Plana Aero will create a 7-seater air taxi with a speed of up to 350 km/h and a cruising range of 500 km

The South Korean company Plana Aero is developing an electric air taxi with vertical traction

take-off and landing (eVTOL).

What is known

The aircraft will be able to carry up to sixperson, not including the driver. There is no information about the unmanned flight mode. The final version of the air taxi will be able to reach speeds of up to 350 km/h. The vehicle will have a cruising speed of 300 km/h and a cruising range of 500 km.

eVTOL-taxi will have a long and narrow fuselage.Judging by the conceptual renderings, the aircraft will receive six five-bladed propellers - four for vertical takeoff and landing, and two for horizontal flight.

The manufacturer was able to raise almost $9 million forcreation of a prototype aircraft. The company wants to introduce a test model of an air taxi next year, with a full-scale prototype coming in 2024. It will have a load capacity of 700 kg. The start of mass production is scheduled for 2028. The air taxi does not yet have a commercial name. The aircraft can be integrated into the regional air transportation system.
