Progress MS-17 cargo vehicle successfully docked to ISS

On the night of Friday, July 2, the Progress MS-17 space cargo ship was in automatic mode

docked to the Poisk module on the ISS. 

Soyuz-2 launch vehicle.1a "was launched from the 31st platform, the Vostok launch complex, the Baikonur cosmodrome at 02:27 Moscow time on Wednesday. After about nine minutes, the ship was launched into orbit. The flight of the Progress was carried out according to a two-day scheme.

Its movement from Earth was controlled by specialists from the Mission Control Center, from the ISS: cosmonauts Oleg Novitsky and Peter Dubrov.

The space "truck" delivered a cargo with a total mass of more than 2.5 tons to the ISS, it consists of:

  • 470 kg of refueling fuel,
  • 420 liters of drinking water,
  • 40 kg of air and oxygen in cylinders,
  • 1,509 kg of various equipment and materials in the cargo compartment, for example, resource equipment, medical supplies, clothing and food.
