As early as October 25, 2019, PlayStation 4 will release MediEvil, a remake of the 1998 game of the same name. Instead of another trailer

What is known

Creative director of the project Mike Mickey saidthat the development team wants not just to rebuild MediEvil, but to release a project that gamers loved 20 years ago. So, along with improved graphics and gameplay, players are waiting for the return of the spirit of the original game.

“In the code of the original game, we found comments aboutwhat kind of music the creators of the original game listened to while working. This helped us to understand the mood in which they created this or that level, ”said project producer Jeff Nakbaur.

The developers also boasted that they receivedaccess to the original MediEvil source code for the PlayStation One. There, the authors of the remake found bosses and levels that did not fall into the 1998 version. According to producer Jeff Nakbaur, the original game was conceived on a larger scale, and it seems that gamers will be able to see the cut content in 2019.

“It's almost like an archaeological project: we dug up a ton of material, talked with the original team, tried to find out what their plan was and what they felt at that time. All this became the starting point for the subsequent development of the game, its presentation, its mechanic.
