Russia will punish social networks for unwillingness to delete prohibited information

Roskomnadzor made a proposal to introduce administrative liability for the reluctance of social networks

remove prohibited information. We are talking about the law on self-regulation, for non-compliance with which there is currently no punishment.

Such an initiative came from the deputy head of Roskomnadzor Milos Wagner.

”The law came into force, but sincethere is no law enforcement practice, and there is no responsibility for its failure. Therefore, it is necessary to foresee the possibilities, after analyzing, the administrative responsibility for non-compliance with the provisions of this law, "- said the representative of the department at a meeting of the State Duma commission to investigate the facts of interference of foreign states in the internal affairs of Russia.

Let us remind you that on February 1, Russia entered intothe force of amendments to the Law “On Information...”, according to which owners of social networks with a daily audience in the country exceeding 500 thousand users must limit the posting of prohibited information.
