A sea of guns, enemies and new worlds: watch the first gameplay of Borderlands 3

Gearbox Software held another presentation of Borderlands 3, but this time gamers were shown more than a minute-long trailer.

and four hours of gameplay.

What showed

Borderlands 3 characters will have three activeskills, and not just one, as was the case in the sequel and the original. At the beginning of the playthrough, the player will be asked to decide and upgrade the corresponding skill branches. For example, a siren named Amara can create a projection that deals damage, hit the ground, and lift enemies into the air.

There will also be more guns in the game, and in Borderlands 3each barrel will receive two firing modes. For example, a pistol can fire both bullets and missiles. In the third part, Gearbox decided to use the “instant loot” system - in co-op, each player will drop different guns from chests. However, they will be able to disable this feature by installing shared loot, but then players will have to divide the loot among themselves.

Players will also receive automatic adjustmentslevel of opponents so that you won’t be able to come to the first “boss” overpowered” and destroy him with one blow. By the way, there will be more powerful opponents in Borderlands 3 - the developers want to reward players more often for their courage.

The main base will return in the third part, that's justit is now the spaceship Sanctuary III. On the ship, players will find a Moxie bar, a box where missed loot will be collected, and a map. In addition, Borderlands 3 will have several worlds, and a spaceship will be useful for traveling between them.

Borderlands 3 will be released on September 13th on PlayStation4, Xbox One and PC (Epic Games Store). Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said that the developers plan to release paid DLC, but there will be no microtransactions in the game. However, Pitchford’s words were refuted by a PC Gamer journalist who found paid items in the game.
