Works on the construction of an energy storage inThe Pillswood project proceeded at an accelerated pace due to a possible problematic winter amid the energy crisis in Europe. Although the battery has already been connected to the substation, the main electricity supplier will be connected next year.
It will be the offshore wind farm Doggerbank. Commissioning of the first two phases is scheduled for 2023. The entire project will be completed in 2026, when Dogger Bank will be able to produce 4.8 GW of electricity.
But for the operation of the battery of an American companyIt will be enough to put two phases into operation. The new Tesla Megapack energy storage device will be able to store 196 MWh of electricity. This will be enough to power 300,000 homes for two hours.
Pillswood is one of three Tesla projects inGreat Britain. The American manufacturer has already installed energy storage units with a capacity of 15 MWh and 68 MWh. All three projects are supervised by the British company Harmony Energy Limited.
